GALWAYnow sponsors Best Dressed Lady

The Clarenbridge Oyster Festival celebrates its 62nd Anniversary this September, and GALWAYnow are delighted to be sponsoring the glamorous Best Dressed Competition once again. The Festival takes place from Wednesday 7th September through until Sunday 11th September, and never fails to showcase some incredible fashion. The top prize for this years Best Dressed lady includes a luxurious overnight stay at The Lodge at Ashford Castle including breakfast in Wilde’s Restaurant, a €150 hair and beauty voucher for Barry’s Hair Studio, a stunning Palomar neckpiece and Teardrop earrings by Blaithin Ennis, and a delightful Kinvara Skincare hamper. The lady sporting the Best Hat will receive a headpiece specially commissioned for the Clarenbridge Oyster Festival, by talented milliner Emily Jean Byrne. Let’s not forget about the boys! The Best Dressed Man of the evening will receive a generous voucher to the value of €600 from the incredibly stylish Louis Copeland and Sons.

Judges Lauragh Quinn and Caroline Downey have a keen eye for style, and will mingle with the crowd to find the Best Dressed of the day. Don your dresses and dickie-bows and step out in style this September, for the glamorous Clarenbridge Oyster Festival.

The 2016 Festival will also host a range of exciting bands. Friday will see Walk The Line, a Johnny Cash Tribute band, performing some of his best known tracks. The Festival Gala on Saturday 10th is headlined by The High Kings and promises to be an evening of high energy entertainment.

Aside from the incredible fashion and entertainment, the Clarenbridge Oyster Festival is a true celebration of the native Oyster. The Festival marks the beginning of the new Oyster season, respecting the tradition of generations of expertise in harvesting oysters from the surrounding shallow seas. Protected in the bay from the Atlantic, the oysters in Clarenbridge flourish in the perfect mixture of fresh and seawater. Perfect conditions combined with a wealth of skill and knowledge from the community, mean that the taste of the Clarenbridge Oyster is unrivalled. Dress up and dance the night away, but most of all savour the famous Clarenbridge Oyster at this year’s Festival.
