Clarenbridge Oyster Festival 2008

Failte go Droichead an Chláirín …

Welcome Bienvenue Wilkomen
Dear Guest,

On behalf of the Clarenbridge Oyster Festival Committee it is my great honour to welcome you to celebrate the 2008 Clarenbridge Oyster Festival with us. Our village nestles on the banks of the Clarin River at the mouth of Dunbulcan Bay
and is home to the famous Clarenbridge Oyster. Enriching tides flow through the estuary and under the arches of the old stone bridge from which the village takes its name.

The oysters are harvested from the surrounding shallow seas, protected fromthe worst of the winter storms and worked on by oyster-men with generations of experience. We continue a great tradition with the Oyster Festival, now well into its second half century.

Our Festival celebrates the opening of the Oyster season and offers many events for you to participate in and to enjoy, and most of all to savour Clarenbridge Oysters. Enjoy our village, the hospitality of our local community and all the fun of the Festival.

May I express sincere thanks to the local community, the voluntary Festival Committee and to our many sponsors, particularly to our Key Sponsors.I look forward to meeting you at the Festival.
